For Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11:

  1. Press The Windows key on the keyboard+S on your keyboard.
  2. Type cmd in the search field.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to run the command prompt with administrator privileges, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    • If you want to run the command prompt without administrator privileges, click Command Prompt.

For Windows 7:

  1. Click StartAll ProgramsAccessories.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to run the command prompt with administrator privileges, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    • If you want to run the command prompt without administrator privileges, click Command Prompt.

You can also use Windows PowerShell instead of the command prompt. See the Microsoft website for more information.
